More and more information is being shared lately about the crucial role played by animals – big, small and in-between – during wartime. The Friends of ANZAC Cottage will be commemorating these creatures on Sunday 27 February from 1.30 to 4.00 pm. This year we will be featuring pigeons and their life-saving role in many wars. A short commemoration ceremony will be conducted at 3.00 pm.
Displays and materials based on pigeons will be on show with the chance for children to be involved in a number of activities.
ANZAC Cottage is situated at 38 Kalgoorlie Street, Mount Hawthorn and entry is by donation. Afternoon tea, ice creams and drinks are available for a gold coin donation. Due to COVID restrictions, pre-booking for this event is necessary. Please go to the booking website above to book or call Anne on 0411 44 55 82.
The Friends of ANZAC Cottage acknowledge the support and encouragement of the National Trust of Western Australia. ANZAC Cottage is managed by the National Trust on behalf of the community and the Government of Western Australia.
