Adventures in Archaeology uncovers some hidden treasures from the past.
Young archaeologists can examine the tools, techniques and methods used by archaeologists to unlock secrets from the past. Learn the process to excavate, analyse and interpret artefacts before accurately recording them. Then, get them ready for a small museum display. Be inspired to explore the world of archaeology and discover the thrill of uncovering the mysteries of the past.
During this workshop participants will:
- Survey, record and analyse a small site for artefacts.
- Accurately record artefacts and piece together the clues that reveal their past.
- Take on the role of a museum curator to create a small display of the objects for others to view.
- So what are you waiting for? Sign up today, we think you’ll dig it!
Developed for children aged 8 to 12 years old.
Drop and leave programs enable juniors to experience the Museum independently, discover and learn something new in an area of interest and access materials and resources that would not normally be available at home. All programs are managed and monitored by our experienced Learning and Engagement staff.
